Dr. Barry Littlejohn MD began his higher education at Illinois Wesleyan University in 1970, graduating four years with a Bachelor of Arts. That same year, he traveled North from Bloomington to DeKalb, Ill., where he enrolled in the Master of Business Administration program at Northern Illinois University. He completed his M.B.A. in 1976. After graduating from NIU, Dr. Barry Littlejohn MD three years at Jefferson Trust and Savings Bank in Peoria, Ill., where he served as the Vice President of Investments.
In 1979, he decided to return to the academic world, this time seeking a change in location outside of Illinois. He moved to Jalisco, Mexico and enrolled in the Doctor of Medicine program at the Independent University of Guadalajara. After three years of study, he graduated in 1982 and returned to Illinois. The following year, he enrolled at Loyola University’s School of Medicine, from which he graduated in 1984.
Dr. Barry Littlejohn MD returned to Peoria that same year and began his residency at the University of Illinois. While in his residency, he received training in obstetrics and gynecology from 1986 to 1989, though he received his Illinois medical licensure in 1985. After completing his residency, he worked with the Sterling and Rock Falls Medical Clinic in Sterling, Ill. for three years before opening his solo practice in Peru, Ill. He worked from this practice for 16 years before relocating to his current home in Glendale, Arizona.
Upon his arrival in Glendale in 2008, Dr. Littlejohn received his Arizona medical licensure and opened his current practice, Barry M. Littlejohn, M.D., and gained surgical privileges at the nearby Arrowhead Hospital. Dr. Barry Littlejohn MD specializes in women’s healthcare, most prominent of which involves pregnancy and birth control, as well as menopause symptoms, uterine fibroids, and ovarian cysts.
